American Photography 27 competition


We are pleased to present the Selected and Chosen photographs from this year’sAmerican Photography 27 competition.

From more than 7,000 pictures submitted by over 700 photographers, magazines, agencies, publishers and schools, our jury Selected, by a majority vote or better, only 313 images to appear in the book and represent the best pictures from 2010. Another 106 were then Chosen with at least two votes to appear on our website.

This year’s distinguished jury included Florian Bachleda, Fast Company; Craig Cohen, powerHouse Books; Chris Dougherty, People; Geraldine Hessler, Glamour; Gail Marowitz, Roadrunner Records; Michele McNally, The New York Times; and Jodi Peckman, Rolling Stone; with Kathy Ryan and Fred Woodward serving as co-Chair Emeriti.

A link is provided here that will take you to a slide show of the Selected (book) andChosen (website) images listed in alphabetical order by photographer. Complete credits, captions and contact info for the photographers will be included in the book and website in November.

American Photography 27 will be launched in hardcover at The Party, November 10, 2011our annual event that brings the creative community together to celebrate the winners. Invitations with details will be sent later in the year. We hope you’re able to attend, so please save that date!

All winning images will also be posted permanently on THEE, our archive of juried images at ai-ap.comTHEE will launch in November.
