
George Condo
George Condo is an American contemporary visual artist who lives and works in New York. Condo has worked particularly in the media of painting and sculpture and has been occupied with investigating the genre of portraiture. He takes inspiration from American caricature,European history portraits, and Greek mythological figures, often in a dark yet humorous style. Condo has exhibited in the United States and in Europe, including exhibitions at The Whitney Museum, The Museum of Modern Art, The Contemporary Arts Museum in Houston, The Guggenheim,The Albright-Knox Gallery, Tate Modern, and the Museu d’Art Contemporani in Barcelona. His work is currently on view at the Whitney Biennial 2010.
